SCU Early Childhood courses

Entry Requirement: Have completed senior secondary study equivalent of Australian Year 12 or at least one year of full-time study (or equivalent part-time study) at AQF diploma equivalent or higher
*Language requirement: Achieve IETLS minimum overall score of 6.5, no band less than 6.5
Course structure: In this course, students will cultivate theories of learning and development, principles and practices of Early Childhood Education and Care. Students also need to undertake 60 days of professional placement in early childhood settings.

Master of Teaching (Early Childhood Education)

Duration: 2 years (full-time)
Location: Gold Coast, online
Intake: February, June
Entry Requirement: Have completed senior secondary study equivalent of Australian Year 12 or at least one year of full-time study (or equivalent part-time study) at AQF diploma equivalent or higher
*Language requirement: Achieve IETLS minimum overall score of 7.0, no band less than 7.0
Course structure: Student can choose either to major in Early Childhood or Secondary Teaching with specialisations in fields spanning English to Art, Mathematics to Music, Science to Dance and more. All students undertake 60 days of professional placement during this course in two environments – a preschool setting and an infant and toddler setting.

Once you complete the Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Education, you could transfer to the second year of the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and graduate with two qualifications, both the Graduate Diploma and Master’s degree.
