If you are looking into studying at a Group of Eight university, make sure to review your finances as course fees for international students will increase in 2020!!
Students will be hit by an increase of up to 7.5% increase tuition fees and changes to the threshold for repayments may also apply.
Due to the extremely high number of students, this deregulation of fees is to reduce the number of people enrolled. Ian Young (previous chairman of Group of 8) argued that downsizing would be good news for the non-Group of Eight universities as it would free up more space for more capable students to attend other institutions. However this is a disadvantage for students as they are at the risk of paying more for less due to these increases and may need to reconsider their choice of school based on their course fees and own finances.
